Very thought-provoking piece that would probably join the rest on the incoming tray with a giant “received” stamp. I’ve always opined that the only consistently missing ingredient in the Nigerian State is a thorough and resourceful leader. Doesn’t require much, just will and balls. For so many years, the Nigerian military has arrogated itself the responsibility of selecting this leader, even in a democracy. It is clear that the formula hasn’t worked, isn’t working and would not work anytime soon. How do we keep the military away from the over-licked honeypot? If you call a conference, the generals would line over themselves to be at the forefront at the expense of the true nation builders. That said, is there any such thing as “Federal PAYE”? From my experience as n entrepreneur, PAYE is paid to the states. No?
